Terms of Service
Rodano Labs Apps · Effective Date: March 18, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using any application operated by Rodano Labs ("we," "our," or "us") (each, an "App"). By creating an account or using any App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Apps.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. During signup, you will be required to confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you do not meet this requirement, do not create an account or use the App.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old and that all information you provide is accurate. We reserve the right to terminate any account we believe is held by a user under the age of 13.
2. Account Registration
To access the full features of the App, you must create an account. You may sign in using: email and password, magic link (a one-time login link sent to your email address), Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials, all activity that occurs under your account, and notifying us promptly at hello@rodanolabs.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Microphone Permission
The App's core practice feature requires access to your device's microphone. When you first use the practice feature, your device will ask for permission. You may grant or deny this permission. If denied, the speech practice feature will not function. You can change this at any time in your device or browser settings.
Under normal operation, audio is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or third parties, except as necessary to provide the App's functionality.
4. Credits and Payments
Purchasing Credits
The App uses a credit system to access AI-powered feedback and certain features. Credits may be purchased through Stripe (web) or Apple's in-app purchase system via RevenueCat (mobile). All purchases are subject to the terms of those payment processors.
Using Credits
Credits are consumed when you use AI-powered practice feedback and certain optional features. The credit cost of each feature is displayed in the App before you use it. For example, emailing yourself a speech transcript costs one credit per send.
Guest Sessions
You may try a limited number of practice sessions without creating an account. Guest sessions are tracked locally on your device only — no personal information is collected. Once your guest sessions are used, you will need to create an account to continue. Account creation requires you to confirm you are at least 13 years old.
No Refunds
All credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or Apple's App Store refund policies. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at hello@rodanolabs.com within 30 days of the transaction and we will review your case.
Credit Expiration
Credits do not expire as long as your account remains active. If your account is terminated due to a material breach of these Terms, unused credits may be forfeited. If you voluntarily close your account or if we discontinue the App, we will make reasonable efforts to provide you with advance notice and an opportunity to use remaining credits before closure.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change credit pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect credits you have already purchased.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use each App only for its intended purpose. You agree not to: use any App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse engineer or decompile any App; use automated tools, bots, or scripts; attempt to circumvent the credit system; submit content that is illegal, abusive, or defamatory; attempt to interfere with or disrupt our servers; or share your account credentials with others.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.
6. AI-Generated Content
The App uses artificial intelligence (via Anthropic's API) to generate feedback on your practice sessions. You acknowledge that: AI-generated feedback is provided for educational and practice purposes only; feedback may not always be accurate or appropriate for your specific situation; we do not warrant that AI feedback constitutes professional coaching, instruction, or advice of any kind; and you should use your own judgment when evaluating AI-generated feedback.
Rodano Labs is not responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated content. You agree that you will not rely on AI-generated feedback as a substitute for professional advice, evaluation, or instruction. Any use of such feedback is at your own risk.
7. Service Availability & Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will be free from interruptions, errors, or data loss.
Features may be added, changed, or removed over time. We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature or functionality. If we discontinue the App entirely, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice. Your continued use of the App after modifications constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
8. Intellectual Property
Our Content
The App, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Rodano Labs and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
Your Content
You retain ownership of any speech content you submit through the App. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content solely for the purpose of delivering the App's feedback features to you during your session. We do not store, use, or distribute your practice transcripts beyond what is necessary to generate your feedback in the moment.
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at rodanolabs.com/privacy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RODANO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any defects will be corrected or that the App will meet your requirements.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RODANO AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the App will not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the first claim giving rise to liability.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at hello@rodanolabs.com.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have committed a material breach of these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. In cases of termination due to material breach, unused credits may be forfeited. In all other cases, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and an opportunity to use remaining credits.
Sections 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 of these Terms survive termination.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rodano Labs and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights; or (d) any content you submit through the App.
We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of that claim.
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at hello@rodanolabs.com and allow 30 days for us to attempt to resolve the matter informally, unless doing so would be futile. Most concerns can be resolved this way.
Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Rodano Labs agree to resolve it through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will take place in North Carolina or, at your election, by videoconference. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to hello@rodanolabs.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
Payment of all filing, administration, and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. We will reimburse those fees for claims totaling less than $10,000 unless the arbitrator determines your claims are frivolous.
The arbitrator shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the interpretation, applicability, or enforceability of this arbitration agreement, including any claim that all or part of this agreement is void or voidable.
Class Action Waiver
YOU AND RODANO AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. IF A COURT FINDS THAT THIS CLASS ACTION WAIVER IS UNENFORCEABLE FOR A PARTICULAR CLAIM, THEN THAT CLAIM WILL BE SEVERED FROM THE ARBITRATION AND PROCEED IN COURT, WHILE ALL OTHER CLAIMS REMAIN SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION.
Exceptions
Either party may seek emergency injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in North Carolina to prevent irreparable harm, without waiving the right to arbitrate all other claims.
15. Force Majeure
Rodano Labs is not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, internet or infrastructure outages, labor disputes, governmental actions, pandemics, or failures of third-party services or infrastructure providers (including Anthropic, Supabase, Stripe, or RevenueCat). In such events, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the circumstances.
16. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, or any rights or obligations under them, without our prior written consent. Any attempted assignment without consent is void. Rodano Labs may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or change of control. These Terms will be binding on and inure to the benefit of the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
17. Export & Sanctions Compliance
You may not use the App if you are located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or export restriction, or if you are identified on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties, including the Treasury Department's Specially Designated Nationals List. By using the App, you represent that you are not located in such a country and are not on any such list.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Any invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, preserving the original intent of the parties to the greatest extent possible.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy available at rodanolabs.com/privacy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rodano Labs regarding the App and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, communications, and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter herein.
20. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms at any time does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Any waiver of a specific provision must be made in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Rodano Labs.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. For mat
