What are Rodano Labs Apps?
A quick overview for those new to Rodano Labs.
Rodano Labs builds AI-powered practice apps for students, competitors, and lifelong learners. Each app is designed to help users build real skills through deliberate, feedback-driven practice — the kind of focused repetition that actually leads to improvement.
Our first app, Impromptu Practice, is a speaking coach for high school and college speech & debate competitors. More apps are in development. All Rodano Labs apps are solo practice tools — no human coaches, tutors, or other users are involved. Students practice alone and receive AI-generated feedback, nothing more.

How audio and speech work
This is the most important section for parents and school IT departments to understand.
Audio is processed locally on the student's device
The microphone captures the student's voice. The browser's built-in speech recognition (Web Speech API) converts it to text on the device itself. Under normal operation, audio is not transmitted to or stored by Rodano Labs or any third party.
Only the text transcript is sent for AI feedback
That text goes to Anthropic's API (the company behind Claude AI), which analyzes it and returns feedback. According to Anthropic's published policies at the time of processing, API inputs are not retained after processing.
Transcripts are not stored on our servers
The transcript and feedback are shown on screen during the session and discarded when it ends. Rodano Labs does not build a history of what students said. There is no session log, no recording archive, and no student speech database.
Age requirements & COPPA
Designed to comply with COPPA requirements for users age 13 and older.
We do not market to children under 13 and have no features designed for that age group. If you believe a student under 13 has created an account, contact us at hello@rodanolabs.com and we will delete it immediately.
